Stephen Gigliotti, LMFT is a California State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a broad range of experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), harm reduction, and mindfulness based therapies. He specializes in working with adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, social phobia, PTSD, borderline personality, depression, and mood disorders. Mr. Gigliotti serves the community of Walnut Creek and surrounding areas. He approaches treatment with an emphasis on creating meaning and collaborates with clients to help them live the valued life that they want, while helping to foster change in problematic behaviors.
Stephen Gigliotti, LMFT received a dual Master’s in Counseling and Forensic Psychology from Holy Names University and a specialty Certificate in Diagnosis and Treatment of Trauma. He has worked at Behavioral Health Court for Contra Costa County as a mental health clinical specialist and at Rogers Behavioral Health as a behavioral specialist.
During his time working at Behavioral Health Court, he focused his treatment in the areas of dialectical behavior therapy, substance abuse treatment, and trauma focused interventions, including dual diagnosis work and mindfulness based CBT.
Clientele served at Rogers Behavioral Health are primarily adolescents and adults working through the OCD/Anxiety and Depression Recovery programs.
He continues to facilitate groups on DBT and CBT skills as well as psychoeducation for clients and family members alike. Mr. Gigliotti has completed training as a Dialectical Behavioral Therapist and has received training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and CBT for depression. Mr. Gigliotti has presented at national conferences on dual diagnosis, harm reduction, and training new therapists. He continues to be a guest lecturer at graduate schools speaking on anxiety, depression, OCD, and other modalities of therapy in both private practice and hospital settings.
